For more than thirty years, renowned Australian landscape photographer Ken Duncan has been captivated by the beauty of America. He has made more than 40 photographic journeys across America, drawn back time and again by the landscapes that continue to inspire him. Ken Duncan: The Artist’s Journey

The Beginning

Ken Duncan’s story is one of vision, courage and an unwavering belief in following a calling. He is widely regarded as one of Australia’s most iconic landscape photographers, yet despite international acclaim, Ken has always grounded his identity in humility, often describing himself simply as “an average photographer with a great God.”

In the early 1980s, while working as a senior technical representative for one of Australia’s leading photographic companies, Ken encountered the Widelux panoramic camera. For the first time, he could translate onto film the expansive vistas exactly as he experienced them. In 1982, driven by conviction rather than certainty, he left the security of his career in Sydney and set out across Australia to reveal the true spirit of the nation.

Recognition and Impact

Ken went on to pioneer Limited Edition Fine Art Prints in Australia and establish Panographs Publishing, bringing panoramic photography to audiences through more than sixty books. His work has taken him across North America and around the world, and has been recognised with national and international awards, including the Gold Tripod Award, an Honorary Fellowship from the Australian Institute of Professional Photography and the Medal of the Order of Australia.

Today, Ken remains as passionate as ever about photography and the timeless beauty of creation. Each image and each new horizon reflect the purpose that first led him into the wilderness: to capture light, reveal beauty and inspire others to see the world differently.
