Sri Lanka offers a remarkable combination of stunning landscapes, pristine beaches, captivating cultural heritage and a marathon of wildlife viewing.
Ken Duncan and Glenn McKimmin will be your hosts on this exotic 5-star photo safari to discover the treasures of this tropical island nation.
Glenn McKimmin has come a long way since his early years as Ken’s assistant. He is now a highly respected professional photographer and he also runs Created for Life, the Pro Lab where all Ken’s printing and framing is done. He appreciates quality and understands that photographers need to be able to focus on just capturing the image.
The two guys have travelled extensively together – within Australia and overseas – and Ken is looking forward to once again venturing out with Glenn, this time to explore the beauty and diversity of Sri Lanka.
“I’m very proud of what Glenn has done with his photography and other skills” says Ken, “and I’m excited to be doing this expedition with him. As well as being a great photographer in his own right, Glenn also has many technical skills. So this will be an excellent opportunity for people to brush up on some PhotoShop techniques. Whenever I’ve travelled with Glenn in the past, it’s always been a fun adventure. So, I’m definitely looking forward to this one. Glenn has put together a wonderful itinerary for this tour and I believe we are going to capture some great photos – classic landscapes as well as awesome wildlife images.”
As part of a small group, under the guidance of 2 passionate professional photographers, you are assured of being in the right place at the right time, to capture the multitude of sights and experiences you will encounter.
Few places in the world can boast such a tremendous wealth of photographic opportunities within a relatively small area. Sri Lanka offers 15 national parks with an abundance of wildlife, 8 UNESCO World Heritage sites, 350 waterfalls,
500,000 acres of lush tea plantations, 25,000 bodies of water, 250 acres of botanical gardens, and 1,330 kilometres of coastline – including pristine beaches – all in a culture which dates back over 2,500 years.
In a single day you could be watching elephants in a national park in the morning, then admiring lush, tea-soaked mountains at dusk. Ken is excited to be able to share this new destination with Glenn – and with you.
Because Glenn runs the lab Ken uses for all his printing and framing, this will be a great opportunity for you to get some tips on how to prepare your image files correctly, so you can produce stunning prints off your photos. This information is invaluable. It is equally important to know how to make beautiful prints as it is to learn how to capture great photos.
Places on this tour are limited to a maximum of 12, so you would be wise to book early to ensure you don’t miss out.
The team at Foto Workshops can also assist you with flight bookings if required.
