I first photographed the Spa Pool back in the 1980s. Since then, many people have been inspired to go and capture images of this treasure in the heart of Hamersley Gorge. Many renditions I have seen of this place have been heavily manipulated, which I don�t understand. In the right light, its natural colours cannot be improved upon. In the days of my early visits to Karijini National Park, very few people used to venture into the area. But these days, tourists visit from all over the world. When I first took my daughter here as a child, we had this pool all to ourselves. It was wonderful to take her back again as an adult and see how much enthusiasm she still had to explore this idyllic location. Often, the purest and simplest things in life give us the greatest pleasure. Getting away from the demands of wi-fi connection gives us a chance to tune into an even greater network that helps bring peace and tranquility to our spirits.
