Description
Many people who go to Karijini National Park see only the most accessible areas. In fact while I was there recently on an expedition, another photography tour group was fascinated when they heard we were intending to venture into this difficult area. I first found this spot many years ago but still very few people brave this part of the gorge. To reach this stunning location, we entered in through Knox Gorge, then abseiled down over some waterfalls. Once here, we waited for the light to penetrate the very narrow canyon to capture this image. Then we spent hours paddling on inner tubes through Red Gorge, then Joffre Gorge, until we were able to climb back out of the canyon. It was a big day, but well worth the effort.
