Description
I lived on Sydney’s northern beaches in the 1970s and have always loved the area. It was a laid-back, surfing lifestyle and we had many wild parties. In the 1990s, I published a book capturing some of the magic of the northern beaches area. Avalon Beach was a must to photograph because of all the fond memories I had of surfing at this beautiful location. Many things have changed since the 90’s, but still the heart and soul of the area remain. Waves just keep rolling in, no matter what humanity may conceive. And here, the sun rises once again, with the promise of a beautiful new day. I like the fact that this shot captures the old surf club to give a bit of history – a touch of nostalgia.
