This photograph is taken on the Central Coast of New South Wales, at a place aptly named Long Jetty. I captured this image in the golden hour just before sunset, as the curtain is about to close on another day. Birds perched precariously on the jetty´s railing are watching the last golden rays of the sun illuminating the sky. These jetties are always a photographer’s delight, but become even more picturesque with such an amazing boat in the foreground. Although the day is almost over, there is something about this image that is very inviting. The long jetty stretching into the shallow lake provides an opportunity to enter right into the scene. And the classic, 90-year old clinker-built dinghy beckons as if to say, “Come, let´s embark on an adventure”.
