About StoryShow +
Many photographers have photographed Nandroya Falls in Palmerston National Park. I wanted to try for something different, so we trekked a long way downstream. We had neglected to bring torches and it was already getting late by the time we saw this opportunity down Douglas Creek. But we felt we needed to wait and get the shot, even if it meant spending a damp and uncomfortable night in the rainforest. I loved the delicate arch of the fern fronds in this scene as they spread across the swirling waters. They looked so soothing. Even better – for us – was the fact that there was enough moonlight once darkness fell for us to be able to walk back out. So we didn’t have to spend a night in the wild after all!
