About StoryShow +
This simple hut merging into the surrounding landscape commemorates the spot where Abraham Lincoln was raised. From humble beginnings, Lincoln went on to become one of the most articulate, noble and visionary U.S. Presidents. One speech in particular has had a profound impact on me. In 1838, speaking of the threats to America, Lincoln said: "…if it ever reach us, it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher." I believe this "threat from within" is America´s loss of faith in God, and it is this that has fired my own American journey as a landscape photographer. I hope that as people see the awesome beauty of creation, they will once more proclaim: "In God we trust."
