About StoryShow +
For this shot I returned to Hopetoun Falls, one of my favourite spots in Victoria. It was an overcast day with patches of rain, providing the perfect light for photographing a waterfall. It had snowed here on the previous night – a rare occurrence in the Otway Ranges – and looking carefully you can see the remnants of snow in the crown of one of the tree ferns. To achieve this 220 degree view I used my medium format Roundshot camera which employs a rotating lens. The scene captures the journey of the river from the veil-like falls over a long tumble of rocks and then onwards along its path towards the sea. It´s easy to hear its music as it flows, easy to be drawn into the delightful melody of the water´s unending song.
